Wilma Jane Benge

Wilma Jane Benge, age 75 of Pineville, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation after a long illness. She was born on April 19, 1947, in Bell County, Kentucky to Charles and Ethel Green Hembree. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ethel Green Hembree; husband, Arnold Benge; and sisters, Betty Ingram and Shirley Williams. She is survived by her son, Terry Philpot (Shanna) of Pineville, Kentucky; 2 grandchildren, Christa Campbell (Josh) of Pineville, Kentucky, and Jared Philpot of Lexington, Kentucky; 3 great grandchildren, Brody Hensley, Rylan Hensley, and Jesse Campbell; 2 brothers, L.V. Hembree (Ruth) of Hamilton, Ohio and Jerry Hembree (Donna) of Corbin, Kentucky; 1 sister, Billie Ann Gladden (Sam) of Hamilton, Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would also like to express their gratitude to a special friend Joyce Catoe as well as the staff of Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation for the care and love they gave to Wilma during her illness. Wilma was a member of Greasy Creek Baptist Church. She graduated from Lone Jack High School in 1965 and went on to pursue a career as a staffing coordinator for Bethesda Hospital in Ohio and Shands Health in Florida. Wilma will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Brown presiding. Music will be provided by Stephanie Turner. Burial will follow at the Highland Park Cemetery in Williamsburg. Pallbearers will be Jared Philpot, Brody Hensley, Josh Campbell, Frankie Ingram, Bill Bailey, and Jerry Hembree. Honorary pallbearers will be L.V. Hembree, Sam Gladden, and Davey Williams. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Benge Family.
