(Willie) Jean McInturff, age 95, Sayre Christian Village Nursing Home, Lexington, formerly of Pineville, KY, died Friday, November 25, 2011. Jean was the daughter of the late William Joseph McInturff, Sr., and the late Addie Belle McKinney McInturff. She was born July 13, 1916, in Donna, Texas. She is survived by her brother, Wilford McInturff, and his wife, Dorothy McInturff, Lexington, KY; three nephews ? William Bradley McInturff, Thomas Joseph McInturff and his wife, Marlene, and Leslie Joe McInturff and his wife, Barbara, Lexington, KY; a niece - Alice Jean McInturff Greene, Lexington, KY; three great nephews ? Kevin McInturff, Virginia, David McInturff, Virginia and Adam Greene, Lexington; two great nieces - Katherine Greene-Owens and Meredith McInturff, Lexington and one great-great nephew, Gabriel Harris Greene Owens. She was preceded in death by two brothers ? Albert Ivan and William Joseph McInturff , one sister - Wilma McInturff, and a nephew-by-marriage, Kenneth W. Greene. Jean was a graduate of Pineville High School, Pineville, KY, and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Lexington, KY. She was also a student at Berea College. For special training, she attended Cooke County Hospital (Chicago, Illinois), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), Charity Hospital (New Orleans, LA) and Barnes Hospital (St. Louis, MO). She was a nurse and nurse anesthetist at the Pineville Community Hospital for 30 years. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Pineville, KY and the Business and Professional Women?s Club. She was a writer and long time genealogy historian of Pineville First Baptist Church and the McInturff-McKinney families. Her writings were published in the Pineville Sun newspaper, in her memoir ?Froth and Bubbles? and in R.N. magazine for which she won a national award for her article ?Why I Chose Nursing As My Profession?.
