William Howard "Bill" Pope

William Howard “Bill” Pope, 87 of Barbourville, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Barbourville ARH. He was born in Brush Creek on December 27, 1934, a son of the late Jess and Myrtle Deathridge Pope. Bill had been a photo engraver at a chemical manufacturing company. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Pope; and sister, Freda Faulkner. Bill is survived by his wife, Wanda Mayne Pope; son, William Pope, II and wife, Joann; daughter, Teresa Pope; grandchildren, William Pope, III, Aaron Pope and wife, Kayla; and Jessica Gibbs and husband, Brian; great-grandchild, Sebastian Pope, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the First Advent Christian Church at 245 Sycamore Street in Barbourville with Rev. Leonard Lester presiding. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the First Advent Christian Church or to the Alzheimer’s Association of Kentucky 6100 Dutchman Lane #104, Louisville, Kentucky 40205. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour at the First Advent Christian Church.
