William Poore

James William 'Rev. Bill' Poore, 81, of Middlesboro, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Middlesboro on October 18, 1931 a son of the late Luther and Roberta Sharpe Poore. He was ordained a minister at 18 years of age and ministered for 66 years. He was the Pastor of many churches, had an Evangelistic Radio Program for 13 years in the late 70's and 80's and had been a chaplain at Pineville Community Hospital during that time. He was the current Pastor at Bennett's Fork Baptist Church. Monica, his special daughter-in-law, was a great caretaker to him and took him to his treatments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, William Bruce Poore and a sister, Fay Livengood. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Nellie Francis Barton Poore; daughter and son-in-law, Bridgett and Jeff Sharpe; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Monica Poore; grandchildren, Derrick Poore, Kimberly Craig, Whitney Poore, Barton Poore, Steven Poore and David Lee Sharpe; great-grandchildren, Christian Craig and Dylan Craig; sisters, Margaret Colson, Marie Poore and Kay Bishop and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
