William Carson "Cooch" North, 71, of Ingram, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at his home. He was born in Pineville on October 20, 1954, a son of the late Joe and Ruby Ingram North. Carson enjoyed time spent with his friends. He loved watching UK Basketball, UK Football, and playing cards. Carson was a believer in the Baptist Faith and had been a car salesman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Margaret North.
Carson is survived by his loving daughter, Greta Murphy; grandsons, Michael Warren and Joesph Warren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin presiding. Burial will follow at the Tad Goodin Cemetery in Green Briar. Pallbearers will be Isaac Edmondson, Rodney Warren, Ulis Lingar, Jerry James, Russell Murphy, and John Goodin. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hammons, Jay Hammons, George Staples, Clayton Howard, Joe Vaugh, Alvie Fuson, and H.A. Carmack.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the North Family.
