William L. "Bill" Mcgeorge

William L. 'Bill' McGeorge, 87, of Four Mile, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born in Hollingsworth, KY, on August 26, 1929 to the late David and Catherine Branscomb McGeorge. He attended Riverside Baptist Church, he was a Substation foreman for Kentucky Utilities for 46 1/2 years. Bill served as a Bell County Volunteer Fire Fighter and a board member for many years, he also was a Kentucky Colonel. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, William Michael McGeorge; brothers and sisters, Glessie Cupp, Mary Hobbs, Ruth Philpot, Newt McGeorge, Elizabeth Hayes, Jack McGeorge and Orbin McGeorge. Survivors in his wife, Georgette Carnes McGeorge; daughters, April Golden and husband John, Amy McGeorge Golden, a daughter from previous marriage Willene McGeorge Black; grandchildren , Anastasia McGeorge Wheeler, Shawn Black, Steven Black and Marsha Black; great-grandchild, Claudia Black; brother, Marvin McGeorge and wife Sadie; sisters, Phyllis Messer and Elsie Phipps; sisters-in-law Ruby McGeorge and Carolyn McGeorge; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Spicer and Mr. Todd Golden. Pallbearers will be his nephews and friends. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens at Middlesboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the McGeorge family.
