W.C. (William Charles) "Bill" West age 68 of Cumberland Gap, Tennessee was born on October 15, 1942 and passed away on Friday, December 31, 2010 in Selma, Alabama after a long illness. Bill retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked for more than 30 years. He served his country in the United States Army and served in Korea. He professed his faith at a young age and became a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and was baptized in Towne Creek. Preceded in death by his parents, Roy Fuson and Mossie Mae Patterson West, brother, Ronnie and sister Dora Ann. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte, his son Michael and wife Soma and grandsons Jessie, and Nolan; his daughter Jeanine and husband Lane, granddaughters, Katie, Chloe and Ivey; son Hugh and wife Amanda and grandson Hudson; His brothers, Lee Roy and wife Nancy Russell West of Cumberland Gap, Kenneth and wife Nancy Haskew West of Cumberland Gap and Roger and Lori West, Tampa, Florida. He is also survived by many family and friends including special cousin and friend, Tom West. Family and friends will meet for Graveside services for Bill at the Red Hill Cemetery in Speedwell, Tennessee on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. Rev. Darrell Walker and Rev. Chad Burdett officiating. Special music provided by nieces, Lee Ann West Walker, Nichole West Goins, and Kaydee Jo and Amber West.
