Walter (Punkin) Mullins, Jr., 49, passed away at Middlesboro ARH on January 24th, 2026, with the people he loved the most by his side, his mom and dad and his wife.
He was born to Sally Boggs Mullins and Walter Mullins Sr. March 6th, 1976, in Middlesboro, KY. He was baptized and saved at an early age and attended the First Baptist Church in Harrogate, TN.
Punkin was an avid fisherman, and he was most a peace with a fishing rod in his hand and sometimes fishing with a rod in each hand waiting to see which one took the bait first. He knew the best times to fish, best fishing spots and what bait to use. He loved camping at the lake. Punkin didn't just go fishing, he went CATCHING.
Punkin loved nature, he could tell you almost all the types of trees, plants, berries, wildflowers, when the weather was going to change, etc... which he learned from his mother. He was skilled at woodworking, remodeling houses, fixing household appliances, cars and just about anything in Between, a trait he learned from his dad. He also loved UK Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arch and Mae Mullins, Boyd Boggs, and Ruth Rich.
Left to mourn his passing is his parents, Walter and Sally Boggs Mullins; his wife of 8 years, DeeDee Bean-Mullins; his brothers, Joshua (Heather) Mullins and Jeremiah Mullins; his children, Emily Mullins, Amber Mullins, Hailey Mullins and Nicholas Mullins; granddaughter, Kayden Gidens; and special friends Rachael Love and Eddie Payne.
The family would also like to thank Blue Grass Hospice for the care and compassion they gave him during his time here on earth, Meagan Short, Lisa Perry, Shilah Evans and Chaplin Kristin Sizemore.
The memorial for Punkin Mullins will be held at a later date.
Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville is honored to serve the Mullins Family.
