Walter "Deadhair" Barnett

Walter Orvile 'Deadhair' Barnett, 78, of Pineville, passed away at his home on Friday, December 9, 2016 after a long and hard battle with prostate Cancer surrounded by his family, friends and 'Jake' his beloved dog. He was born on September 26, 1938 in Stinking Creek, KY a son of the late George and Della Broughton Barnett. He had been a self-employed truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a special brother-in-law, Glenn Giles. Survivors include his children, Edward Barnett, Kathy Barnett and fiance', David Jones, Laurinda Copek and husband, Richard; grandchildren, Jack Dewayne Gore, Cheyenne Jackson, Jeremy and Johnathon Copek; great-grandchildren, Trevor Raney and Nathan Jackson; brother and sisters, Stanley Barnett and wife, Zora, Chriscilla Patterson and Geneva Giles, special friends, David Jones, whom he thought of as a son, Barbara Brock, Andrew Collins and Little Andrew Collins and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to his caregivers, Barbara Brock, Denise Brock and Linda Miracle, Hospice of the Bluegrass, Barbourville Office. Services will be on Monday at 2:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alan Sanders. Burial will be in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Barnett Family.
