Walter D. "Donnie" Arnett

Walter D. 'Donnie' Arnett, age 74, of Pineville, KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 6, 2017 in Lexington, KY. He was born on March 27, 1942 in Insull, KY, a son of the late Walter and Mary Saylor Arnett. He was a 1960 graduate of Bell High School, then served in the U.S. Army Reserve for several years. Donnie was employed by the Kentucky State Department of Highways, served a term as the Bell County Jailor, and had also been a business man in Bell County for many years. He was a member of the Wasioto Baptist Church and the Bell Masonic Lodge No. 691. The later part of his life was devoted to his family, his grandchildren, and the care of his sister, Brenda and to his church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph E. Arnett and sister, Brenda Arnett. Donnie is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lucy Slusher Arnett; one son, Christopher Don and his wife, Heather Long Arnett; two very special granddaughters, Ava and Addison Arnett; brother, Robert E and Barbara Arnett of Franklin, OH; sister, Flossie Howard of Monroe, OH and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lynn Miracle and Rev. David Howard. Music will be by Seanna Howard, Shane Simpson and Jeff Tingle. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Todd Walters, Joe Humfleet, Joe Hammontree, William Hammontree, Colby Slusher, Rob Lincks, Kevin Carroll and Billy Harbin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Slusher, Dr. Eugene Slusher, Roy Sims, Darrell Brock, Glen Long, Dr. Shawn Fugate and the Men of Wasioto Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Arnett Family.
