Wallace Caleb Robbins of the Laurel Hill Community of Pineville, KY, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born May 11, 1939 at Hances Creek, Bell County, KY. Wallace was the beloved husband of Lillie (Hensley) Robbins, devoted father of Wally Robbins and Wendi Robbins (Richey) Weinstein. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Caleb Robbins and Pauline (Pursifull) Robbins, two infant sisters, Patricia Anice and Chesney Kay Robbins; his beloved father and mother-in-law, Robert and Marie Hensley. He was an Eastern Kentucky University graduate and attended Union College. Wallace was a retired school band director and music teacher in the Bell County Schools. He also taught at Cumberland High School, Harlan Co., KY and Garrard County High School in Garrard Co., KY. Wallace was an avid and talented musician. He was a long time member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville, KY where he was a member of the choir and the music program. Wallace enjoyed being with his family, loved his students and was an avid wildlife observer. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, photography, art and poetry. Wallace is survived by his wife, Lillie Mae Hensley Robbins, son, Wallace DeLaney Robbins, daughter and son-in-law, Wendi (Richey) Weinstein, Bayfield, CO.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Bobbie Sue and Russell Miracle, Glenn and Phyllis Slusher, Arles and Katherine Wilder, all of Calloway, KY, Jenene (Cliff) Dye of Hamilton, OH, Pauline (Vernon) Jones of Burnside, KY; two half-sisters, Lori Robbins (Sam) Brown and Sheila Robbins (David) Smith and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Three Aunts, Leda Robbins of Calvin, KY; Bess Davis of Michigan, Margaret (Claude) Hobbs of Loyall, KY; uncle, James Robbins of Calvin, KY; special cousin, Bobby Joe Campbell, Dillsboro, IN and special friend, Ron McCarty.
