Virginia Gail Saylor, 72 of Middlesboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born in Middlesboro on January 13, 1954, a daughter of the late Archie and Gladys Shelton Gaylor. Gail was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she loved her grandchildren more than anything. She enjoyed cleaning, watching the birds, and gazing at the stars. Her favorite season was summer, and she loved all things purple. Gail was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Saylor; son, Adam Gaylor; and sisters, Donna Gaylor, Alene Gaylor, Judy Duffield, Connie Gent, Deborah Slusher.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Krystal Saylor and fiancée, Felix Bryant; son, Jerry Saylor, Jr. and wife, Tammy; grandchildren, Teanna Davis and Christopher West, Samuel Davis and Randi Sampson, Samantha Mason and husband, Christopher, Shelby Saylor and Zachary Mason, Brandy Gaylor, Destiny Gaylor and Travis Gaylor and wife, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Hunter Mason, Chase Mason, Daxton Gaylor, Lakelynn Gaylor, Kailynn Gaylor, Payton Gaylor, and Dylan Gaylor; sisters, Geraldine Brock, Linda Brooks, Cathy Sturgill, Brenda Johnson, Geneva Higginbotham, and Sandra Edwards; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Demus Couch presiding. Burial will follow at the Red Hill Cemetery in Arjay. Pallbearers will be Christopher West, Samuel Davis, Christopher Mason, Felix Bryant, Zachary Mason, and Travis Saylor.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Saylor Family.
