Virginia Slusher Howard, 91, of Pineville, died on Monday, October 27, 2008 at her home. She was born in Flat Lick, KY on October 7, 1917 daughter of the late John H. and Axie Jackson Slusher. She was a member of Moss Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and was a member of the Pineville Senior Homemakers Club. Mrs. Howard, a graduate of Bell County High School, was a Mathematics Teacher at Bell County High School and was owner and operator of Howard?s Drive In. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Howard, sisters, Daphne S. Hale, Dorothy S. Evans, Mary S. Messer and brothers, J. H. (Jay) Slusher and Dr. Virgil ?Babe? Slusher. Survivors include her sister-in-law, Louise Slusher, nieces, Lisa Slusher, Dottie Hale Henderson, Doris Hale Spurlock and Donna Evans Smith, nephew, John C. Slusher, dear friend and companion, Wanda Henderson, special caregiver, Reba Patterson and a host of other relatives and friends.
