Virgie Day, age 80, of Knoxville, formerly of Cumberland Gap, TN, passed away May 20, 2008 at the home of her son, Jerry Day.

She was a member of Underwood Grove Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Otey Day; daughter, Charlene Day; parents, Charles and Mary Goodman; brother, Freland (and Browder) Leffew; infant sister, LaVada Goodman; and mother-in-law, Willie Day; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Underwood Grove Baptist Church with and Rev. Kenneth Luckadoo officiating.

Burial in Hooper Cemetery.
