Viola Beverly Lewis

Viola Beverly Lewis, 86 of Arjay, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at her home. She was born in Moores Creek, Kentucky on December 19, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Dora Reynolds Beverly. She was a member of the Arjay Pentecostal Church and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Roscoe Lewis; two children, Ricky Lewis and Christine Lewis; son-in-law, Donnie Carnes; grandson, Lonnie Christopher Lewis and wife, JoAnn; brothers and sisters, Britten Beverly, Arthur Beverly, Oscar Beverly, Jim Beverly, Flem Beverly, Linda Taylor, Ada Garland, Ellen Beverly, Charlie Warren, Floyd Warren, Gladys Hooker, Minnie Hooker, Eugene Warren, Alice Smith, and Ethel Hall. Viola is survived by her children and their spouses, Bonnie Carnes, Lonnie and Sheila Lewis, Marlene and Earl Neal, Jackie Lewis, Helen Lewis, and Robert, Jr. and Mildred Lewis; eighteen grandchildren, three of whom she raised as her own, Ricky Cart Lewis, Shonda Shae Golden and Christine Christian Halcomb; forty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Randall Beverly and Mr. Toby Beverly presiding. Music will be provided by Olivia Brown, Cindy Carnes, and Amanda Jones. Burial will follow at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Kevin Carnes, Lance Jones, Adam Lewis, Greg Lewis, Ricky Lewis, Steve Lewis, and Travis Neal. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Lewis Family.
