Vickie Jo “Mim” Smith Watts, 66, of Straight Creek, Kentucky passed away from this life to the next on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Baptist Health in Corbin. She was born in Pineville on December 13, 1958, and was a daughter of Wilburn Carl Smith and Bytha Lee Smith Lefevers. Vickie was a compassionate, faithful, and giving friend. She loved family more than anything. She never met a stranger and loved talking to people. Vickie worked at K-Mart as a manager before retirement. She was an animal lover and over the years had many dogs and cats in her home, but few as loved as Charlie, Buster, Abbey, and Fat Baby.
Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Lee Watts, Jr.; her son, Philip Jeffrey Watts; her daughter, Angel Marie Bruner Watts; her grandson, James Matthew Watts; her father, Wilburn; her mother, Bytha; her brother, Johnny Smith; and her best friend, Phyllis Adkins.
Vickie is survived by her son, Kevin Randall Watts and his wife, Stormy Watts; her son, Philip Michael Bruner; her granddaughters, Laken Savannah Watts, Sydney Izabelle Watts, and Zelda Beatrix Watts; her brother, Eddie Smith; her brother, Carl Smith; her sister, Linda Brock; and a host of beloved relatives and extended family.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Bishop Custer Watts presiding. Burial will follow at the Shooting Match Flats Cemetery in Straight Creek. Pallbearers will be Josh Lawson, Robbie Miller, Devon Morris, Thomas Brock, Cody Collett, Evan Brock, and Dalton Callebs.
