Vernon Eugene Taylor, Sr., 94, of Middlesboro, KY passed away on October 12, 2022. Vernon was born on September 15, 1928 to parents Lloyd Taylor and Ethen Green in Calloway, KY. Vernon was a devoted family man, an excellent card player, a traveler who loved the open road and a dedicated public servant to the people of Bell County.

After attending Bell High, Vernon went on to serve in the United States Navy. He later went to Michigan where he built several businesses, served as City Road Commissioner and most notably, met and married the love of his life, Donna Taylor, to whom he was married for 66 years. Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Taylor and Ethen Green Taylor; his siblings, Oreda, Robert and Oran Taylor; and his daughter, Theresa Dean.
