Verda Lou Burns, age 78, of Speedwell, TN passed away Jan. 26, 2011. She was a member of Red Hill Baptist Church and had taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was a founding member and past worthy matron of the Eastern Star of Speedwell, a retired nurse, loved fishing, gardening and collecting antiques.

Preceded in death by husband, Arville Burns; granddaughter, Chrystal Presnell; parents, Lee and Pearlie Madon Evans; sisters, Althea Davis and Theresa Evans; brothers, James Lemuel Evans, Don Evans, Roger Evans;

Survivors, Children: Linda Burns Fultz, Harrogate, Tn. Dinah Burns Presnell (Ron), Pineville, Ky. Mark Anthony Burns (Jill), New Tazewell, Tn.; Grandchildren: Christopher Fultz (Ashley), Carrabeth Myatt (Jerry), Michelle Burns, Aaron Burns, Piper Lewis (Michael) and Shawn Presnell; Great grandchildren: Madeline and Noah Fultz, Emma and Tyler Myatt, Logan and Addison Lewis; Brothers, Lowell Evans (Betty), Guy Evans (Margaret) all of Speedwell, TN; Sisters, Bethel Brown, Monroe, MI, Betty Owens (Claude), West Carrollton, OH; ,Sister-in-law, Delores Evans, New Tazewell, TN; Special aunt, Clevia Patterson, Speedwell, TN; A host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2011 at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Gary Mundy and nephew, Dr. Ron Brown. Music by David Evans, the Red Hill Choir and the Glory Road Boys. Graveside 11 a.m. Saturday in the Town Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nephews. Visitation 5-8 Friday at Reece Funeral Home and Valley Chapel.
