Vellie Mae Woodby

Vellie Mae Woodby, age 92, of Middlesboro, KY was born June 17, 1931 in Middlesboro, KY and passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Tri State Health and Rehab in Harrogate. She was a member of Noetown Church of God. Vellie loved camping and family trips, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and reading her Bible.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Rennie Tolliver, husband; Luther Woodby, son; John Woodby, several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son; Willie Woodby of Middlesboro, KY, daughter-in-law; Rose Woodby of Middlesboro, KY, daughter; Lorene Smith of Windsor, VA, grandchildren; Heather Woodby and Tasha Armstrong both of Middlesboro, KY, Brandon Woodby of Sevierville, TN, Zaden Woodby and John Pridemore both of Middlesboro, KY, great grandchildren; Olivia Kinsley Lee Marcum, Matthew Vaughn, Michael Armstrong and Joshua Armstrong, all of Middlesboro, KY, brother; Ernest Tolliver and wife Teresa of Newport News, VA, sister; Verney Minton of Morristown, TN. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, November 20, 2023 from 11AM until 12 noon with funeral services to follow at 12 noon in the Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel with Rev. Mike Padgett and Rev. Lonnie Lyke officiating. Burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery.
