formerly of Tazewell, TN passed away October 10, 2009 at his home. He was born May 5, 1930 to the late Willie & Zona Moyers Evans. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: the mother of his children - Jean Cook Evans Short, grandson - Christopher Darrell Evans, brothers: Roy, Herman, Millard, Grantville and Robert Lee Evans, sisters: Lula Gilbert, Irene Kipf, Flossie Turner, half-sisters: Cora Evans and Florence McNew. He was of the Baptist faith.

Great-grandchild Haven Jean Evans all of Bean Station, TN.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 2 pm at River View Baptist Church with Pastor John Baker officiating. Music by Margie Kinder and daughter, Beverly. Burial in The River View Cemetery. Pallbearers, Travis Evans, Milford Snodgrass, Bo Evans, Kenny Evans, Carl Scott and Charles Massengill. The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 pm at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel.
