Tonya Gail Thompson, 44 of Stoney Fork, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 in Barbourville. She was born in Harlan County on February 12, 1977, a daughter of Charles Baker, Jr. and the late Ruth Sullivan Baker. Tonya was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and had been a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Baker; and her sister, Gloria Baker. Tonya is survived by her husband of nearly 27 years, Tim Thompson; her children, Timothy Hubert Charles Thompson, Derick Ice Thompson, and Sydney Jayleah Thompson; her grandson, Timothy Carter Dewayne Thompson; her father, Charles Baker, Jr.; her siblings, Cheryl Thompson, Dewayne Baker, and Mary Bryant; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Herstel Belcher presiding. Burial will follow at the Thompson Cemetery in Harlan with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Thompson family.
