Tony Akers

Tony Akers, 52, of Pineville, died on Monday, May 28, 2012 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville. He was born in Pineville on January 1, 1960 a son of the Charlie Akers and the late Eliza Brock Akers. He had been a coal miner. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by brothers and sister, Lonnie Akers, Charles Akers, Jimmy Dewayne Akers and Sherry Lynn Akers. Survivors include his wife, Shannon Hoskins Akers, daughters, Brittanie and Joey Saylor; Holly Akers and Toni Logan Akers, grandchildren, Alexis Holman and Ian Saylor; father, Charlie Akers; brothers and sisters, Joyce Schultz, Sharon Fugate, Karen Darlene Akers Kyle, Jowana Akers and Charles Douglas Akers; special nieces and nephews, Kenny Ray Helton, Felecia Brock, Lynn Bailey and Mae Bailey and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
