Thurman Alfred Posey

Thurman Alfred Posey, 96 of Arjay, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Pineville Community Health Center. He was born in Bell County on October 10, 1929, a son of the late William Isaac and Elizabeth Kansas Elliott Posey. Thurman was a good man with a heart of gold. He was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and had been an electrician.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Mossie Miller Posey; and siblings, Vernon Posey, Betty Lou Varian, Ruth Wilson, Gay Hester Dunn, Phyllis Hottard, James F. Posey, Earl Posey, Buster Posey, Kelso Posey, Pauline Posey, and Irene Shipley.

Thurman is survived by daughter, Barbara Patterson; sister, Patsy Thompson; best friend, Dennis Smith; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Henderson Cemetery in Fourmile with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made toward the funeral expenses.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Posey Family.
