Terry Timothy "Hair" Mason

Terry Timothy "Hair" Mason, 71, of Tinsley, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026, at his home in Tinsley. He was born at home on August 29, 1955, a son of the late Rufus Robert Mason and the late Edna Mae Wilder.

At the age of 14, Terry gave his life to the Lord, and he was a believer in the Baptist faith. Terry worked in the coal mines and was an electrician as well. He loved the outdoors, where he spent many countless hours doing what he enjoyed; whether it was hunting on a cold morning or casting a line at the KU Dam in hopes of catching some Walleye, Terry found his peace in nature. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life.

Many cherished memories were made with Terry by a lot of people, whether it was alongside him in the woods or down by the river. He had a big heart and loved his family and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Rufus Robert Mason; his mother, Edna Mae Wilder; brother, Gary Wayne Mason; sister, Lori Edmondson; grandfathers, John Gillis Mason and George Wilder; and grandmothers, Eva Clarice Mason and Roxie Davenport Wilder.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Mason Centers (Philip Goodin) of Tinsley, KY; daughter, Michelle Whicker of Corbin, KY; sister, Eva Ann Rice (Tilmon) of Tinsley, KY; sister-in-law, Sue Mason of Tinsley, KY; brother, Terry Edmondson (Tabitha) of Pineville, KY; sister, Amy Mason Brown (Tommy) of Flatlick, KY; brother, Scotty Mason (Nikkie) of Hazard, KY; two special friends, Honsel Biliter Sr. and Philip Clay Goodin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

His daughter, Stephanie, would like to thank Dr. Constance Angie Rosenbalm, Jeslyn Wolfe, and staff for treating him like family and for the loving care they provided for him.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Rev. Paul Wayne Goodin presiding. Music will be provided by Cindy Goodin and Lloyd Travis Graves. Burial will follow at the Mills Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Goodin, Isaac Edmondson, Jerry James, Randy Hembree, Lloyd Travis Graves, Euel Hensley, Chris Mason, and Doug Akers.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made toward the funeral expenses.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Mason Family.
