Stevie Alan Baker

Stevie Alan Baker, of Ewing, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at his home with family by his side. He was born on November 18, 1951, in Pineville, Kentucky, and was the son of Virgil and Pauline Brock Baker. Steve spent 27 years in the Middlesboro, Bell County and Knox County School Systems until he retired in 1996. After retirement he immersed himself in hobbies such as woodworking, hunting, fishing, and became a steward to his farm in Virginia.

Steve was a dedicated son, husband, father, brother, and grandfather to his family. His greatest joys in life included building furniture with his son and once his grandchildren grew, teaching about woodworking, arborary, and nature conservancy.

Steve is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lisa Baker; son, Ben and fiancée, Katie, of Louisville, Kentucky; bonus son, Eric and Lauren Good of Middlesboro, Kentucky; bonus daughter, Ashley and Joe Harris of Middlesboro, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Sophia Good, Ava Harris, Keira Good, Maddox Harris, Annalee Good, Logan Good, and Maverick Harris; brother, Gerald and Betty Baker of Barbourville, Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville, Kentucky with Rev. David Rice and Rev. Eric Good officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Messer, Angie Saylor, and Gerald Baker. Burial will follow in the Brock Cemetery in East Pineville. Pallbearers will be Eric Good, Joe Harris, Rick Turner, Mike Davis, Tim Rose, Todd Murty, Maddox Harris, and Chip Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be David Messer and Wayne Gilbert.
