Stevie Wayne Akers

Stevie Wayne Akers, age 58, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Moutainview Nursing and Rehab after battling a long illness. He was born, June 25, 1961, in Bell County, KY to Oscar and Lavonne Belcher Akers. Stevie was a lifelong resident of Stoney Fork, KY. He believed in the Pentecostal Faith. He enjoyed his family and being a witness for the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lavonne Akers. He leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters, Brenda (Angelo) North of Bledsoe, KY, Marcella Rose (Marty) Miniard of Lancaster, KY, Nancy (Lou) Brock of Stoney Fork, KY and Lutishia Caldwell of Stoney Fork, KY; two brothers, Virgil (Cleda) Akers of Stoney Fork, KY and Estil 'Ookie' Akers of Bledsoe, KY and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. Visitation will be Thursday, January 2, 2020 after 11 AM at Laurel Branch Pentecostal Church in Stoney Fork, KY. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2020 at Laurel Branch Pentecostal Church with Rev. Denver 'Bud' Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Honey Branch Cemetery at Helton (Middlefork), KY. Nephews and great-nephews will serve as pallbearers.
