Steven Ray Surber, II, age 31, of Speedwell, passed away August 12, 2006 due to an auto accident. He was born in Harlan, KY August 10, 1975. He was of the Baptist faith & worked at Clayton's in Rutledge, TN. He enjoyed 4-wheeling in the mountains.

He was preceded in death by a very special nephew, Carmon Blake Surber; grandparents, Willie & Julia Mabes and Armor & Francis Surber; and an uncle, Chester Mabes.

Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Bob Owens officiating. Music by the Partin Family. Burial 2 p.m. Thursday at the Wilson Cemetery of New Salem Church. Pallbearers: Jamie Mabes, Jessie Owens, Randall & Donald Goins, Timothy Boring, Hoss Mattingly, Josh Holmes, Jessie Leach, & Jeff McDonald. Honorary pallbearer; Steve Oscar Orick.
