Stanley Caldwell

Stanley Caldwell, 77, of Stoney Fork, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Saylor, KY on December 20, 1930 a son of the late Elijah and Nettie Helton Caldwell. He had been a Mine Supervisor at Eastover Mining until his retirement in 1983 and he had been a member of the Southern Labor Union. He was a member of the Green Hills Pentecostal Church. He had served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Chester, Wright and Farmer Caldwell. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Nettie Short Caldwell, children, Marcia V. Porter and L.J. Clark, of Lafayette, LA, Sherry Cooper of San Antonio, TX and Stanley E. and Pauline Caldwell of Stoney Fork, KY; grandchildren, Chanda Owens, Brandon Porter, Brittany Caldwell and Cody Caldwell; great-granddaughter, Evy Owens; brothers, Reed and Maynard Caldwell; sisters, Catherine Brock, Lucy Caldwell, Cordelia Ludman, Mary E. Raymars and Loudeena Graham and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
