Sonny Brock

Sonny Brock, 80, of Flat Lick, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Baptist Health Corbin. He was born in Pineville on August 4, 1936, the son of the late, Matt and Nettie Helton Brock. He had been a High Lift Operator for a strip mining company for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Carolyn Brock Caldwell; son, Gary Lynn Brock; step-daughters, Benita Brock and Charlotte Lawson; several grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Curtis Brock, Floyd Brock, Ray Brock, Jewell Couch, Eda Gearheart and Hazel Valentine. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Lorene Collins Brock; son, Kenneth Ray Brock; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, brother and sisters, Fred Brock, Charles Brock, Louise Miller and Jean Linton; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew Saylor and Rev. Craig Valentine. Music will be by Lucy Smith. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery at Flat Lick. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Brock Family.
