Sillis Glenn Slusher

Sillis Glenn Slusher “Redowl” of Pineville, Kentucky, died on May 30, 2022, in Dandridge, Tennessee. He was born in Greasy Creek, Kentucky on January 26, 1943, to the late William Matt and Mary Elizabeth Dean Slusher. He was a member of the Blackmont Baptist Church where he proudly served as a deacon for many years. Glenn was Drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After finishing his two years of service, he began his career as a Coal Miner. Then he held the title of Foreman for several years before becoming a Federal Mine Inspector. He was a vigorous Bell County sports fan and attended every game his grandchildren played in. Glenn was an avid fisherman and took to the water every chance he could. Of all the titles Glenn held a devout Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather were the titles he was the proudest of. As Glenn would tell anyone, his greatest accomplishments in life are of the family he leaves behind. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his brothers, Donald Slusher, William Slusher, Claude “Crook” Slusher, Robert “Cotton” Slusher, Buford Slusher, Leonard “Tee” Slusher, Cecil Floyd Slusher, Paul Slusher, and Leon “Doc” Slusher; sisters, Eula Mae Goodin and Eunice Slusher; and in-laws, Arles and Katherine Wilder and Wallace Robbins; and special brother-in-law, Russell Miracle. Glenn is survived by the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Phyllis Levon Slusher; children and their spouses, Bobby Glenn and Angela Slusher and Sabrina and Dwayne Goodin; grandchildren and their spouses, Robert Glenn and Victoria Slusher, Kristen and Ethan Satterfield, Kaylee Goodin and Jon, and Connor Goodin; great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Levi Glenn Slusher, Annzlee, Karsen, and Luke Satterfield; brother, Dallas Faye Slusher; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; special friends, Joes Brown, Arnold “Bugs” Wilder, Jr., Belve Brown, Jr., Danny Gambrel, and John Brock. Funeral services will be at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Preston Smith and Rev. David Howard presiding. Music will be provided by Jeff Tingle and the Gibson Station Choir. Burial will follow at the Upland Cemetery in Hulen. Pallbearers will be Robert Glenn Slusher, Connor Goodin, Ethan Saterfield, Jonathan Saylor, Robert Miracle, Arlis Dewayne Wilder, Logan Cox, Dylan Cox, and Nathan Cornett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dallas Faye Slusher, Dwayne Goodin, Alan Slusher, Jeff Cox, Mark Slusher, Todd Slusher, Johnny Slusher, Tommy Slusher, Ricky Slusher, Rodney Slusher, Gary Goodin, Jerry Lawson, Wally Robbins, and Troy Goodnight. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Slusher Family.
