Sidney Allen

Sidney Edward Allen age 78 of New Tazewell passed away November 23, 2007 at UT Hospital. Born April 21st, 1929 in Pike Co. KY to the late Rev. J.P. & Betty Cisco Allen.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by son; Sidney Allen Jr., daughter Sidney Amanda Allen, brothers: Floyd, Arnold, P.J. Herbert, & Edward. sisters: Bertha, Delphia, Ola, Lora Addine, Fern Wilma, Meldie Genevia, & Rita Allene.

He was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church, worked in law enforcement 32 years, served his country in WWII and was a POW.

Survivors include:

Wife; Wanda Seals Allen of New Tazewell

Son; Rick Allen Cincinnati, OH

Daughter; Gail Grizzell Buford, SC

Brother-in-law; Rev. Roger (Teresa) Seals Speedwell, TN

Sister-in-law; Betty (Michael) Crowe Tazewell, TN

Grandchildren: Kellie King, Jackie Allen & Samuel J. Seals

2 Great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be 2 pm Tuesday November 27th at Reece Funeral Home & Valley Chapel with Rev. Jim Seals & Rev. Lonnie Douglas Dalton officiating. Music by The Liberty Quartet.

Burial in the Brooks Seals Cemetery.

Pallbearers - Jeff Daniels, Eddie Ryan, Glen Mullins, Roger Poore, Rocky Poore, and Dan Massengill.

Honorary pallbearers - Angie Bowlin, Samantha Ryan, O'dell Brooks and Michael Crowe.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Monday at Reece Funeral Home.
