Sharon Ann "Shay" Grace

Sharon Anne “Shay” Grace, 70, of Pineville went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior on December 11, 2024, at Barbourville Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born in Pineville on August 13, 1954, a daughter of the late Charles and Barbara Ann Brooks Grace. Shay was baptized at First Baptist Church at an early age, and she loved music and enjoyed singing in the Choir. Shay was a graduate of Pineville High School where she participated in the Marching Band playing the French Horn. She was selected to play in the Ky All State Band and carried on playing the horn in college. Shay was an avid hunter and loved fishing and being outdoors. She was the coordinator of fireworks for her family and enjoyed teaching the children how to safely use fireworks. Shay was a graduate of the Eastern KY Department of Criminal Justice Training and worked as a police officer. She then worked as a Security guard at Pineville Community Hospital for several decades. While working as the hospital. Shay enjoyed designing and building the Hospitals floats for the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. She also worked with FEMA on disaster and response teams. She loved target shooting with bows and guns and was as excellent shooter. Shay was honored to be a Kentucky Colonel. She also had a love of dogs and especially enjoyed going to Paulie’s Island and the beach. Shay was a loving granddaughter. daughter, sister, aunt and cousin and loved spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, Shay was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Andrew Smith.

She is survived by her sister, Marilou “Piddle” Grace Osborne and nephew, Brooks Keith Johnson and many relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Paul Anglin and Rev. Ron Howard. The music will be by Bruce Messer. The burial will be at Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville. The pallbearers will be Brooks Keith Johnson, Milton Brooks, Russell Brooks, Bob Brooks, Ben Brooks, Lee J. Brooks, Luke Brooks, Jon Charles Grace and Charles Grace.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 3:00 Pm at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville.
