Scarlett Isabella Faye Hoskins, 8, of Speedwell, Tennessee went away to “Go help Jesus” on January 22, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born on February 25, 2017, in Corbin, Kentucky, and was the daughter of Miranda Dixon and Alex Hoskins. Scarlett loved being a student at Ellen Myers Primary School in Harrogate, and also flying kites. She was a member of Gap Creek Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Charlena Cox.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her inseparable little sister, Skyla Hoskins; her “Nana,” Rosa Dixon and fiancé, Cecil Vandegriff; grandfathers, Gary Hoskins and wife, Dana, and George Dixon; great-grandparents, John and Ruth Hoskins; her “little best friend,” Samson George; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, classmates and everyone at Ellen Myers School.
Private funeral services will be at Gap Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Garrett Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in the Harrogate Cemetery with Rev. Terry England officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 29 at Gap Creek Baptist Church from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Arnett & Steele Valley Chapel in Harrogate is honored to be serving Scarlett’s family.
