Ruth Knuckles

Ruth Knuckles, 84 of Arjay, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Arjay on November 15, 1936, a daughter of the late Pete and Mattie Young Christopher. Ruth had been a homemaker and loved her family beyond measure. Ruth had a special way of showing her love. She spread her love by feeding, clothing, and sheltering anyone who needed her. Ruth leaves behind a legacy of love that will always be cherished. She is survived by her children, Rosalee Christopher (Gary Hoskins), Mattie Sanders (Roy), Tina Burnette (David), Sharon Knuckles, Carla Ward (Greg), Tammy Runyon (Carl), and Kenneth Ray Knuckles (Marlene); sons by heart, Pete Christopher (Joan) and Jody Christopher; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren on the way and sister, Louisa Leath and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Virgil Knuckles; mother and father, Mattie and Pete Christopher; infant son, Warren Curtis Knuckles; brothers, George, Charlie, Samuel (Bobby) Art, Crystal (Krill); and sisters, Lena, Ann, Mae, Barbara Joe and Katherine (Cat). Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Lee Lyons and Terry Nelson presiding. Burial will follow at the Knuckles-Christopher Cemetery in Arjay. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Ruth's family wants to give special thanks to her son-in-law, Carl Runyon, who helped care for her. He could put a smile on her face by just walking in the room, his patience never wavered and his love for her was endless. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Knuckles family.
