Ruth Caldwell

Ruth Howard Caldwell, 88 of Bledsoe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 10, 2023. She was born in Hyden on July 21, 1935, a daughter of the late Manual and Mary Morgan Howard. Ruth had been a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Caldwell; daughter, Glenda Caldwell; son, Ricky Caldwell; brothers, Toleman Howard and Roy Howard; sisters, Alma Farmer and Ann Howard; grandson, Charles Richard Caldwell; great-grandson, DJ Widener; and sons-in-law, Rush Morgan, Doyal Widener, Jr., and Clay Tolliver.

Ruth is survived by her children, Carol Morgan, Nelson and Tammy Caldwell, Herman and Jenny Caldwell, Delilah and Vic Caldwell, and Mary Jane Widener; stepdaughter, Sandy Tolliver; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Caldwell; brother, Ralph and Mary Elizabeth Howard; sisters-in-law, Polly Howard and Jackie Howard; grandchildren, Jason, Nanita, Jerry, Carla, Tim, Tasha, Autumn, Jody, Melissa, Cullen, Nicole, Dave, Gareth, Clifton, Whitney, Cheston, Tiffany, Jeff, Susan, Amanda, Larry, and Kelly; twenty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; lifelong friend, Ann Hoskins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Bailey and Rev. Ryan Osborne presiding. Music will be provided by Arnold and Geneva Griffey. Burial will follow at the Honey Branch Cemetery in Helton, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearer will be her special son-in-law whom she loved as her own son, Vic Caldwell.
