Russell Reed

Russell Reed, 74, of Roark, KY, died on Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Westlake Regional Hospital in Columbia, KY. He was born in Roark on January 27, 1938 a son of the late Boyd and Abby Napier Reed. He was a member of the Marcum United Baptist Church and had been a heavy equipment operator for a strip mine. He had served in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Louise Bailey Reed; a grandson, Christopher Burnett; sister, Eula Goodin and brother, Ray Reed. Survivors include his wife, Lena Sizemore Reed; daughter, Deanna Reed Slusher and husband, James and Abbie Reed Burnette and husband, Alan; grandchildren, James Brandon Slusher and wife, Pearl; Cody Russell Slusher and Kristen Burnette Messer and husband, Jason; step-children, Trifona Morgan and husband, Charles; Katrina Sakho and husband, Sidy; Wayne Lipps and wife, Robin and Kevin Lipps; and several step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Roy Reed and wife, Sophia; George Reed and Ross Reed; Beulah Baker and husband, Herbert; Lula Cheatham and Lola Asher and husband, Lloyd; sister-in-law, Beulah Reed and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
