Ruby Johnson

Ruby Estella Houston Johnson, 64, of Pineville, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at her home. She was born in Pineville on December 7, 1952, and was a daughter of the late James Earl and Chloe Brock Houston. in addition to being a mother and grandmother, Ruby had done factory work, and finished her career for a cabinet manufacturer as a wood stainer, before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathy Smith and Marry Ann Houston and brother, Timothy Houston. Survivors include her children, Roger Dale Grubbs, Teresa Mae Grubbs and Mary Angelique Parks; grandchildren, Amanda Thomas, David Evans, Chris Evans, Timothy Partin, Adam Evans, Leslie Hall, Samantha Partin, Joshua Grubbs, Nakishia Cohen and Michael Grubbs; a special great-granddaughter, Thalia Partin: brother, James Houston, Jr., sisters, Denise Mason and Darlene West; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and neighbors. Memorial services celebrating Ruby's life will be at 2PM on Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home chapel with Ms. Veronica Kyle officiating. In keeping with her wishes, Ruby will be cremated at the Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Johnson family.
