Roy Asher

Roy Asher, 75 of Arjay, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Red Bird on June 15, 1950, a son of the late Tom and Marie Osborne Asher. Roy was a believer in the Pentecostal Faith and a member of the Green Camp Pentecostal Church. He really enjoyed his animals and watching wrestling.

In addition to his parents, Roy is preceded in death by his wife, Opal Asher; sons, Ricky Jackson and Dennis Jackson; and brothers, Donald Asher, James Asher, Ernest Asher, and Walter Asher.

Roy is survived by his children, Russell and Rhonda Asher, Kenneth and Marilyn Jackson, Danny and Teressa Jackson, and Judy and J.C. Rice; daughter-in-law, Angela Jackson; siblings, Irene Asher, Ballard and Cora Asher, Bentley and Opal Asher, and Burley Asher; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wagner presiding. Burial will follow at the Phillips Fork Cemetery in Clay County with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Asher Family.
