On Sunday, January 22, 2012, Roselle Tinsley slipped peacefully away with family and friends at his side. He had battled with several illnesses over the years. Roselle was born on October 3, 1936 and was the son of the late Shafter and Fannie Thompson Tinsley. He was the husband of Barbara Smith Tinsley. He graduated from Rosenwald High School, Barbourville, KY and West Kentucky Vocational School, Paducah, KY. He was a skilled Brick Mason. He gave his life to the Lord at an early age and was a member of Hamilton Chapel Baptist Church, Flat Lick, KY. He enjoyed working in the church, and reading and studying his bible. In addition to his wife, Barbara, Roselle leaves to cherish his memory, two sons, Felton Tinsley, Morristown, TN; Melton (Jackie) Tinsley, Flat Lick, KY; a sister, Ima Jean (Matthew) McCowan, Danville, KY; a brother, Richard (Peggy) Tinsley, Cincinnati, OH; an aunt, Joy Ella Boulware, Radcliff, KY; two brother-in-laws, Rev. John H. Clark, Flat Lick, KY and Kenneth David Smith, St. Louis, MO; three sister-in-laws, Mildred Dorn, Elaine (Eugene) Vaughn, and Elizabeth Smith, all of Cincinnati, OH; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alfred Thompson, and a sister, Juanita Tinsley Clark. Roselle loved to grow a garden and share food with family and friends. He will be missed.
