Robert "Bob" Tuttle

April 2, 1939 — April 6, 2026

Robert “Bob” Tuttle, age 87, of Cumberland Gap, TN, passed away on April 6, 2026 in Harrogate, TN.

Born in Cumberland Gap, TN, on April 2, 1939, to the late John W. and Lottie (Shoffner) Tuttle; from an early age, Bob accepted Christ as his Savior, a decision that shaped every step of his life. His faith was not only something he professed—it was something he lived daily. He was the same man on Sunday as he was every other day of the week. Bob was the Owner/Operator of Tuttle’s Grocery for 58 years. He was a charter member and deacon of New Beginning Baptist Church. He served as a Commissioner of the Claiborne County Election Commission for 30+ years. He was a true pillar of his community—dependable, humble, and always willing to lend a helping hand. His life was rooted in his faith, family and the quiet strength of these Appalachian hills he called home. One of his greatest joys was beekeeping. Bob found peace and purpose tending to his hives, carefully nurturing the bees and producing honey that he generously shared. In many ways, this reflected his own life—patient, diligent, and quietly producing something sweet and meaningful for others to enjoy. He also enjoyed time spent on his tractor and piddling around on his farm. Above all, his love for his family was unwavering and deeply rooted. He cherished every moment spent with them, his family was his pride and joy and he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and strength that will continue through generations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, General, Escoe, James, Tilmon, Shelby and Clyde Tuttle; and five sisters, Alice Ridings, Beatrice McMurray, Rosie Guy, Mary Jones and Elsie Minton.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Roxie Tuttle; Daughter, Lisa (Robert) Barger; Son, Wesley (Tammy Collins) Tuttle; two grandchildren, Allen (Julie) Tuttle, Byron (Ragan) Tuttle; two great- grandchildren and one on the way, Westin Tuttle, Mollee Tuttle, Sutton Tuttle and Baby Girl Tuttle; one brother, Carson Tuttle; and a host of nieces and nephews.

While we grieve his passing, we take comfort in the promise of eternal life, knowing he is now in the presence of his Savior. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:8, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” We rejoice in knowing he has been welcomed home with the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His life was a testament to faith, humility, and love—a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be held at New Beginning Baptist Church in Arthur, TN, on April 8, 2026 from 5-7PM. The funeral service will follow at 7PM, with Donnie Bannister officiating.
