Robert Dwayne Taylor, 55 of Harrogate, Tennessee, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 22, 2026, at the Claiborne Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born on August 27, 1970, in Pineville, Kentucky, a son of James Richard Taylor and Ellen Napier Taylor. Robert was a member of Victory Church in Arjay, Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Ethel Brock Taylor; maternal grandparents, Robert and Charolette Harley Napier; cousins, Troy Ward and Deborah Ward; special nephew, Austin Taylor; along with several aunts and uncles.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, soulmate, and friend, Jennifer Johnson Taylor; his parents, James and Ellen Taylor; daughter, Mallory Paige Taylor; bonus daughter, Kelli and Bill Sharp; bonus son, Jon and Lexi Stanley; bonus grandchildren, Cailie Sharp, Alyssa Sharp, Natilie Sharp, Rebekah Sharp, Wyatt Stanley, and Sarah Stanley; brothers, and sisters-in-law, CA and Donna Hensley Taylor and Darrel and Teresa Allred Taylor; sisters-in-law, Adean Cole, Claudetta Warnock, and Vickie Washam; brother-in-law, Ronnie Washam; nephews, Blake Taylor, Stephen Taylor, and Sam Taylor; great-nephews, Ian Saylor and Trip Taylor; niece Christy and Joey Saylor; along with a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins; bonus brother, Albert Hensley; and co-workers at Nyrstar Mining.

The family would like to thank Brittany, Amanda, Chastina, Zoie, and Carrie, the nurses that cared for him at the Tennessee Cancer Center, Nurse Practitioner Erica Couch, the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Room at the Claiborne Medical Center, Dr. D. Hammer, Dr. L. Ochoa, the floor nurses, Ashley and Ty, Surgical Dr. G. Cox, and the staff at Claiborne Medical Center and Claiborne EMS for their loving care they provided to Robert.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at the Victory Church in Arjay, Kentucky, with Rev. Wilkie Saylor and Rev. James Polly presiding. Music will be provided by Theda Polly, Channon Broughton, Linda Taylor, James Saylor, and Delisha Saylor. The family invites all to join them for a Homegoing Dinner after the service at the church.

Family and friends will meet at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Monday to leave in procession for the graveside service at the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro, which will be at 11:00 AM on Monday. Pallbearers will be Darrel Taylor, CA Taylor, Lowell Scott, James Saylor, Tommy Saylor, Garrett Saylor, Albert Hensley, and Joey Saylor.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Victory Church located at 7701 Highway 66 in Arjay, Kentucky.
