Richard D. Saylor

Richard D. Saylor, 85, of Siler, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born in Beverly, Kentucky on June 23, 1932 and was the son of the late Matthew and Sally Jackson Saylor. Richard was a loving father, believed and the Pentecostal and Holiness Faiths. Richard was a United States Veteran and had worked as a Federal Mine Inspector, until his retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iva Saylor; brothers and sister, Denver Saylor, Ralph Saylor, Nellie Faye Slusher, and two grandchildren, Richard 'Bucky' Saylor and Destiny Hubbard. Survivors include his children, Diana Mills, Ricky G. Saylor and Teresa Partin, Larry D. Saylor and wife, Sharon, Susan Saylor, and Terry Saylor and Libby Ball Nettie Louise Messer; grandchildren, Randy Saylor, Aleshia Saylor, Anthony Saylor, Nicholas Lawson and Melissa, Rebecca Mills, Nathan Mills, Marty Mills, Lance D. Saylor and Tina, Amy Hembree and Michael, Christopher D. Saylor and Crystal, Ryan Mason and Sarah, Chase Saylor, Alex Saylor, Misty Mills, David 'Bo' Mills and Mandy and Kenny Mills and Mia and Michelle Lynn Messer; sister, Pauline Hartsock ; multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Rev. Carl Jones. Music will be by the Johnson Family. Burial will follow at the Saylor Cemetery in Siler, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Lance Saylor, Christopher Saylor, Kenny Mills, Chase Saylor, Randy Saylor, Ryan Mason, Alex Saylor and Anthony Saylor. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 PM on Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Saylor family.
