Richard Lynn Peace, 69, of Pineville, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Pineville on October 2, 1948 a son of the late Harry Richard and Ethel Potter Peace. He was a member of West Pineville Baptist Church and had retired as a Shift Engineer from Kentucky Utilities. Richard was an active member of the community serving in many capacities, including being a member of the Pineville Lion's Club for 45 years, Chairman of the Community Development Agency Board for 40 years, Selective Service Board for 25 years, Chairman of Pineville Housing Authority for 32 years and he also served on many committees for the Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Richena Beth Peace Johnson; paternal grandparents, Alonzo and Carrie Peace and Maternal grandparents, John and Sally Potter. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Miller Peace; daughters, Tommie Goodin and Lola Faulkner and her husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Haley Goodin, Georgia Faulkner, Noah Faulkner, Ethel Page Johnson and Lela Taylor Johnson; a much anticipated great-granddaughter soon to be born; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 1:00 PM Friday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Peters. Music will be by David Peters. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Dr. Shawn Fugate and Kentucky Utilities Power Plant Men. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Peace Family.
