Richard Harold Hoskins, 90, of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Tri-State Nursing and Rehab Center, Harrogate. He was born in Straight Creek, KY on January 15, 1927 a son of the late Steve and Emeline Fultz Hoskins. He was a member of Old Straight Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Harold had been a high school teacher in the Bell County School System at Henderson Settlement, Lone Jack and Bell County High School. He was an avid sportsman and loved gardening. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Joe, Steve, Jr., Pearl Bine, Carrie, Kathleen, Frances and Doris. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Phyllis Ramsey Hoskins; son, Jason Hoskins; grandchildren, Rebekah and Emma Hoskins; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be on Saturday, June 17, at 4:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W. Terrell Gibson. Music will be by Mickey Wilder. Burial will be in the Hoskins Family Cemetery No. 1 at Straight Creek. Memorial Donations suggested to: Vets Serving Vets, St. Jude, Shriners; East TN Children's Hospital or Sunrise School at Barbourville. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 17 from 2 until the service hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville.
