Richard Carl Coswell Cox

"R.C" Cox, 75 of Tazewell, passed away Saturday evening, Aug 6, 2011 at the Claiborne County Hospital in Tazewell, TN. He was born Aug 5, 1936 in Jonesboro, TN, the son of Perry Walker Sr. & Evelyn Delores Valerie Douglas-Cox. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army. He worked for the Elgin City Water Department in Elgin, IL and Hydro Tech Corp in White Plains, NY. Roger was one of the engineers that designed and implemented the water filtration plant in Saigon, Vietnam. After coming back from Vietnam, he moved his family to Cisne, IL, where he took up farming. He had a farming accident in 1977 and became disabled. He married Lorraine Mae Heine on June 28, 1958 in Elgin, IL. She preceded him in death on March 17, 1988 in Fairfield.

He is survived by two daughters Tina (Charles) Hansen of Rockford, IL and Carol Ann (Robert) Debenport of Fairfield, IL, One son Walter Cox Sr; Eight grandchildren Michael (Francesca) Cox of Ft. Campbell, KY, Kelly (Justin) Glon of San Fannsisco, CA, Adam and Eric Hansen of Rockford, IL, Walter Cox Jr. & Silas Cox of Cushing, OK, Teia and Robert Jr Dabenport, of Fairfield, IL; two great-grandchildren Alexisand Jayden Cox of Ft. Campbell, KY; one brother Perry (Deon) Cox Jr., MO; two sisters Joan (Ted) Cook of Louisville, IL and Maude Fillmore of Mayfield, KY; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother William E Cox and two sisters Irene and Juanita Cox.
