Richard "Dick" Bain, III

Richard James Bain III, affectionately known as “Dick,” passed away on May 18, 2026, at Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on October 9, 1960, to Marilyn Bossick of Monroe.

Dick spent much of his life traveling across the United States building cell towers, a career that reflected his hardworking spirit and dedication. He took pride in his work and the many places and experiences it brought into his life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Marilyn Bossick; his family, Rick Bain and Nick (Kristen) Bain of Cumberland Gap; and especially by the lights of his life, his beloved grandchildren — “Papaw’s babies” — Evander Bain, Riley Bain, Nate Bain, and Kerigan Bain.

Dick loved spending time fishing and sharing stories from his younger days. His sense of humor, storytelling, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will not be having a formal service at this time. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Tri-State Health and Rehabilitation Center and Amedisys Hospice Care for the compassion, care, and support shown to Dick and his loved ones during his final days.

Though gone from this earth, the memories, laughter, and stories Dick shared with those he loved will remain forever in their hearts.
