Rev. Roy Eugene Hatton

Rev. Roy Eugene Hatton, 80, of Pineville went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Physicians Region Hospital in Knoxville. He was born in Louisville on April 10, 1937 a son of the late Leonard Hatton and Grace Centers Hatton Rhodes. Rev. Hatton was the Pastor at Mount Hebron Baptist Church, his church was his family and he will be missed by his family and Assistant Pastor Buddy Joe Hunter. He was a great man of God who believed strongly in the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-father, Leonard Rhodes; sisters, Janice Thornberry and Bonnie Rhodes, brothers, Lonnie and Ronnie Rhodes and other family members, Bryson Smith, Bradley Bingham and Kimberly Jan Henderson Gamble. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Maxine Hatton; brothers, Leonard Rhodes, Jr. and wife, Lisa; William Hatton and Peggy Henderson and husband, Elmer; aunt, Irene Fuson, special friends, James Bauer and Angie Fuson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Mount Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Walzer reading the obituary and friends sharing special memories. Special music will be by the church family. Burial will be in the Rhodes Cemetery with Gary Fuson, Mark Henderson, Gary Hurst, Jamie England, Derick Bingham, Nicholas Hatfield, Donnie Simpson and Edward Hatfield serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steven Morgan, William Lindsay and Dr. Doiron. The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Mount Hebron Baptist Church.
