Rev. Paul Bryant Gibson

October 14, 1924 — June 3, 2015

Rev. Paul Bryant Gibson, 90, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Tinsley on October 14, 1924 and was a son of the late Isaac and Lucy Rebecca Fuson Gibson. He had been church pastor and a member of Moss Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for over 47 years. Paul was a dedicated church worker, and also taught 'singing schools' in Bell, Harlan, Laurel and Knox Counties. Paul retired from Kentucky Utilities Company after 42 years of service as a Foreman and had also worked as a private contractor installing electric service and wiring for numerous people in his spare time and after retirement. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ruth Wilson Gibson; daughter, Sharon D. Collett; grandchildren, Gary Stewart, Jr. and Devonya Stewart and siblings, Woodward Gibson, John Randall Gibson, Jeff Warren, Minnie McClellen, Martin Warren and Nellie Gibson. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Randall Bryant and Trudy Gibson; Wm. Terrell and Carolyn Gibson and Donna L. and Gary Stewart; son-in-law, Luther Collett; grandchildren, Paula Ruth Greene; Rebecca Faith Tuttle; Joshua Collett; Paul Bryant Gibson, II; Michael Shane Stewart; Shaynina Gambrel and Jeremiah Gibson; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and many friends. Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Bruce Walzer and Rev. Paul Bryant Gibson, II. Music will be by Lowell Turner. Burial will be in the Fuson Chapel Cemetery at Little Clear Creek. Pallbearers will be Rev. Paul B. Gibson, II, Joshua Collett, Michael S. Stewart, Jeremiah T. Gibson, Gary Stewart, Luther Collett and David Michael Gibson. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 until 9 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Gibson Family.
