Retha Ann Warren Bays

December 25, 1969 — March 4, 2025

Retha Ann Warren-Bays, 55, of the Ingram community, passed away early Tuesday morning

at UK’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born on Christmas Day,

1969, to the late Carl and Jerlene Warren of White Mountain, Kentucky.

Retha was preceded in death by her younger brother, Willis Joe Warren; her mother, Jerlene

(Hooker) Warren; and her father, Carl Warren, all of whom she lovingly and dutifully cared for

until their passing; as well as several beloved uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Her cherished memory will survive on with her husband, Andrew Jackson Bays; her children:

Briar Kane Blackburn, Keelin Blackburn (wife of Briar), Andrew Hunter Bays (Mckenzie Bullins),

Jennifer Bays-White (Chris White), and Tiffany Bays; her grandchildren, who affectionately knew

her as “Mimi”: Kasen Bays, Nathan Marsee, and Chloe Marsee; her elder brother, Carl “Bunkie”

Warren, Jr.; and a host of wonderful extended family and friends.

Retha’s extraordinarily kind, loving, and fun spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

She was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a kind word, or offer a laugh to loved ones

and strangers alike. A homemaker for most of her life, anyone who stepped into her home could

rest assured that they would not leave unfed. Retha found immense joy in spending time with

her loved ones, tending to her beautiful flowers that she cultivated with her magical green

thumb, coloring, and sitting on her front porch with a cup of coffee as she watched

hummingbirds.

There are no words that accurately convey how deeply she will be missed by her loved ones.

Her legacy will carry on reminding us to choose a life filled with meaningful acts of love and

kindness.
