Rebecca "Becky" Morgan Mace

March 18, 1956 — April 17, 2025

Rebecca “Becky” Morgan Mace, a loving mother and Granny, dedicated teacher, and cherished friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on April 17, 2025, at the age of 69. Becky was born on March 18, 1954, to Hazel and William “Bill” Morgan of, Pineville, KY. She was born with a caring soul that she shared with the world, a deep love of animals, an ability to grow any flower or plant, and a steadfast Loyalty to her friends and family. She was courageous, inspirational, kind, loving, funny, full of joy, witty and a ball of fire.

She graduated from Pineville Independent Schools and attended Morehead State University where she majored in elementary Education and was an active member of the Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority. After college, Becky returned to Pineville to start her teaching career at Arjay Elementary. Shortly after starting in education, Becky met and married the love of her life, Jeffery Todd Mace, in January of 1983. Shortly thereafter, they were blessed with their daughter, Lauren Good, in January of 1885 and completed their small family with their second daughter, Morgan Mace-Burchette, who was born in August, 1986.

Becky taught in the Bell County School District for 27 years until she retired in 2005 and considered the years that she spent with her students some of the greatest years of her life. She would call her students her kids and would share stories from her classroom. After retirement, Becky became a homemaker, avid gardener, and rescued every stray animal she came across. During COVID, Becky moved to Middlesboro and spent the last five years of her life in her Granny Shack feeding her hummingbirds, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Becky joined her parents, Hazel and Bill Morgan, her sister Sallie Rosdeutcher, and her husband, Todd Mace in Heaven.

She is survived by her sisters, Deane (John) Turpin, Sue Halloran, and Debbie (Kevin) Frick, her daughter, Lauren (Eric) Good and Morgan (Phil) Burchette. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who caller her Granny. They are Sophia, Keira, Anna Lee, and Logan Good, Phoenix and Mace Burchette and Malachi Zachary. Becky is also leaving behind Women that she called her sisters, even though they were the friends that were collected throughout her life. They include friends, Leisa Stewart, Jane Bishop, Piddle Osborne, Kaki Smith, Cindy Whitt, Mary Hammons, “adopted” daughter, Melissa Zachary and Elizabeth Lucas and all of her Tri Sigma sister from Morehead.

The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Becky Morgan Mace will be held on April 21, 2025 at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with the celebration to immediately follow. Per Becky’s wishes, her ashes will be scattered with her husbands at their favorite place to be together, White Rocks in Virginia this summer
